Dr Oishee Kundu

Research Associate in Procurement, Infuse - Y Lab, Cardiff University

I am a public procurement researcher supporting the InFuSe programme. I specialise in the study of innovation procurement and public procurement of complex product systems.

I studied economics at university and graduated in 2015. My postgraduate education at Sciences Po Paris introduced me to the economics of procurement through defence procurement and I wrote my Master’s thesis on defence procurement challenges in India, which won the Prix Bastien Irondelle and Defence Economics Award (from the Ministère des Armées) in 2017. I joined the University of Manchester as a PhD student in 2017 and was affiliated with the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research. For my doctoral project, I explored the similarities and differences between defence and civilian public procurement in the context of public procurement and innovation (PPI) research.

I have been involved with the Brilliant Club as a PhD tutor and developed and delivered a course for high school students under The Scholars Programme and a Masterclass under the Welsh government’s Seren Award initiative.
