Peter Schofield

Head of Integrated Commissioning and Procurement - Manchester City Council

Peter has had a varied career with over 40 years working strategically and operationally in the Public Sector. Starting out as a Chartered Civil Engineer and working in various roles, always championing improvement and efficiency.

As Head of Integrated Commissioning and Procurement at Manchester City Council for the past 3 years , preceded by 7 years delivering a collaborative procurement programme for Greater Manchester, he has spent the last 10 years supporting a range of transformational projects.

As chair of the iNetwork Connected Procurement and Commissioning Workstream and Vice Chair of the LGA’s Procurement National Advisory Group, Peter provides a link between national policy makers and the NW region’s procurement practitioners.

Current concerns include supporting “recovery”, maximising the opportunities that the new Procurement Regulations should provide and devising ways to ensure that the Council’s suppliers match the council’s zero carbon ambitions.
